23, 1935, in Saint-Mandé, just outside Paris. She and her mother, Elia,
fled to Nice, where they lived at 6 rue Lamartine. They were deported on

Jeannette MARKUS was born on May 8,
1930, in Paris. Arrested with her mother and her older sister, Berthe, both of
whom were deported, Jeannette was transferred from Drancy to the UGIF Lamarck
center, then the one in Montreuil. There she was arrested on July 22, 1944, and
