                            Louise   Huguette

This is the shop of the hairdresser Maklouf KASSIS, 22 rue de Pantin in Bagnolet, at the edge of Paris, in 1934. The parents, Maklouf and Clémentine, are shown with their daughters born in Algiers: Louise, born on December 26, 1924, and Huguette, born May 2, 1926. Arrested in Marseilles, all four were deported on convoy 71 of April 13, 1944, and, most unusual, all four survived. (Photo cr: Mj-Pp).

Odette ABBOU was born on August 27, 1928, in Algiers. She is shown here seated, in white, on the right. She lived at 48 rue Doudeauville in Paris (18th arr.). Arrested with her mother, Esther, and her sister Elise, age 18, Odette was deported with them on July 18, 1943, on convoy 57. (Photo cr: Mj-Pp).
