Efraim BUCH, the father of the girls shown here, was deported from Pithiviers on convoy 6 after having been a victim of the first big roundup of May 14, 1941. Their mother, Doba, arrested with her three daughters during the Vel d'Hiv roundup, was forcibly separated from them and deported from Pithiviers on convoy 14. Suzanne, age 14, was deported on convoy 16 of August 7, 1942; Céline, 12, and Marie-Louise, 9, were deported on convoy 20 of August 17, 1942. All three were born in Paris, where the family lived at 339 rue des Couronnes (20th arr.).
