FRENCH CHILDREN OF THE HOLOCAUST A memorial Serge Klarsfeld     Back   Contents Page 1454 Home Page  Forward                                                                                                                              Henri, few weeks after his return from the camps Henri (Hirsch) BORLANT is the child in the center of this picture taken at the school on rue Baudricourt (13th arr.) in Paris. To the right are his brothers: standing is Bernard, who perished at Auschwitz; seated is Roger, who escaped the roundups. The Borlants had fled to Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay (Maine-et-Loire), but the family was cruelly stricken in July 1942: their father, Aron, a tailor, was arrested and deported from Angers on July 20 on convoy 8 with his daughter Denise, age 21, his sons Bernard, 17, and Henri, 15, born in Paris. Only Henri returned; he later became a physician.
