Laure and Maurice CAEN lived at 3 avenue Maria in Montmorency, a suburb of Paris. They were arrested with their six children and all were deported on convoy 71 of April 13, 1944. The children included one son, Etienne, age 17, and five daughters: Marianne, age 19; Francine, 16; Gisèle, 14; Micheline, who was 12 on the day she arrived in Auschwitz; and Catherine, 6. Only Etienne returned. He is shown above in the center of the picture, taken in 1938.
