Emile FRIEDEL and his brother Serge were born in Bellerive-sur-Allier (Allier), in central France, on June 23, 1933, and March 1, 1936, respectively. They were arrested with their mother, Renée, and their grandparents, Isaac and Fanny, in the domaine du Plaix in Charmeil, near Vichy, on April 1, 1944. Their father had been killed in the French army in 1940. All were deported on April 29, 1944, on convoy 72 except for the grandfather, Isaac, who was executed in the Moulins prison on June 6, 1944.
