Maurice

Romanian by birth and a tailor, had been a volunteer in the army in 1914. He received the Croix de guerre, a military medal, and became a naturalized French citizen. The whole family was deported on May 20, 1944, on convoy 74. Maurice, number A 5151, one of the youngest survivors of deportation, was the only to come back. The parents were gassed upon arrival; Willy was murdered in October 1944.
