Betty BEM was born on November 2, 1937, in Paris (10th arr.). She was the daughter of Estera, deported on convoy 16, and Herschelik-Georges, deported on convoy 5. She lived at 17 rue de Lappe (11th arr.). She, too, was deported but her name could not be found on the deportation lists. Arrested with her mother during the Vel d'Hiv roundup, she must have been deported during the summer of 1942. She had been interned in Pithiviers in barracks no. 9 and transferred to Drancy on August 22, 1942. A neighbor interned in Drancy sa
