Edith BECKER, deported at age 12 on convoy 47 of February 11, 1943, had three older sisters deported before her on convoy 10 of July 24, 1942. They were Jenny, 16, Frieda, 17, and Cécile, 19. All four sisters, born in Worms, Germany, are together in this picture taken in 1938, the year they fled Hitler's Germany and arrived in France. They were taken in by the Rothschild orphanage in Paris at 7 rue de Lamblardie (12th arr.). There they were arrested during the two biggest Parisian roundups: the three oldest were caught on July 16, 1942, and Edith on February 10, 1943. (Photo cr: Mj-Pp).
