Great site!

I'm working on a seminar paper on Rolf Hochhuth's THE DEPUTY (aka THE REPRESENTATIVE) and its US reception, and would appreciate hearing from those for whom, like me, the play was a defining experience.

Thanks.

I became interested in learning about the Holocaust after watching documentary movies on it. Thank you for the information given. This was a tradgedy, but it is reality. This happened to innocent people like ourselves. Let us pray for the victims and their families. Please...let us NEVER experience such a hellish nighmare on Earth again. Hitler is Satin.

I think that it's wonderful that a holocaust page is here on the internet where anyone can access it. Everyone needs to know what happened so that it will never happen again. I have learned about the holocaust since i was in first grade. I have learned so much. My heart is sad yet hard from all the suffering that i have seen. I cannot cry anymore about the death. I wish i could but i have cried myself out. I don't know if i can cry anymore about the holocaust. This scares me. Tears should always be avaliable to weep the deaths of those who had no family left to mourn for them.

I am very pleased to see this site, I was very distressed to hear people saying that the holocaust shouldn't be included in the childrens history books. I have taught my sons that this should never be forgotten. I really appreciate a place to go for information that I was searching for over the years.

Thank you for all the hard work!

Thankyou for creating such a truthfull and helpful page about the Holocaust. i am currently enrolled in a writing class that is based on the Holocaust and your site has helped me in so many ways. i am ashamed to say that i did not learn about the Holocaust much in school, before now, and knowing the small amount of information i know now i wish there it had been taught to me. your web page has opened my eyes and heart and i hope you continue to update and reaseach to put a stop to the ignorance that unfortunately surrounds this subject. thanks again.

Hi, I am a student from history in Colombia, and i am greatfull for the existence of this site. Excelent work, extremelly well documentated. I will make it now one of my favorite sites.

WWII is one of my favorite topics, but i must confess that i never payed excecive attention to holocaust, since is not something that is practically evident. But since revisionism has taken some strenght this year, I think is worth of an effort to keep the truth shinning. It will be very dangerous if Nazis or neo nazis blind people about the existence of holocaust. Keep the good work!

I found the page to be very factual and interesting. Anyone interested in the holocaust should see Steven Speilbergs new movie " The last Days ". It is a documentary of sorts, and very moving. I cannot imagine this type of horror....almost entire families wiped out....children seperated from their mothers...not knowing the fate of your loved ones...

This shows us how dangerous bigotry and all other forms of hatred towards others can be.. and how the lust for power can destroy. Harmful and condiscending views can be contagious, especially to weak or needy people. And only the weak need to condemn others to feel big.

My heart goes out to victims of all forms of defamation.

Some of my relatives perished during WWII in Poland. Those who went to camps as prisoner of war or just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time or of the wrong sex, later succumbed to respiratory complications originating at the camps.

I visited Aushwitz on site and it is for real as are the people who survived to tell the truth about it.

Thankyou for a most enlightening page. For all too long many people have remained ignorant to the true circumstances and events surrounding this tragic period of history. Being a person who has studied the holocaust indepth and having visited the 'anus mundi' that is Auschwitz I would like to end by recalling a quote that I saw there: "Those who do not remember history are bound to live it through again" If only this were made clear to the Balkan countries of late.

i am a seventeen year old high shool student. i was doing a project for art which had to do with time. my teacher instructed the class to write a short message in the center of the art work, having to do with visiting the time we were visually depicting. My written phrase is "never return to this place.". with the pictures i was able to gather from this web site, i will construct a collage which focuses on the horrors of the holocaust. by writing the words, "never return to this place.", i am saying that history must not repeat itself, but that what happened must never be forgotten. thank you for opening my eyes to this sight, i have been moved.

How anyone can so simply say this did not happen is beyond me. In Australia we are seeing a similar situation to our north in East Timor [although to a much lessor degree]. The Indonesian Government is committing genocide and denying its happening. I guess some people never learn from the past.

At first I came to this site in search of information for a report that i had been assigned, but then I started reading for me, not my report. My heart and mind were at war with each word i read and each picture that appeared. My heart was crying with the pain of these people, while my mind tried to justify that acts. Both were having a hard time believing Just remember. For the sake of the ones who were sacraficed for this tradgic event.

It is hard to comprehend the obceness of this event. I have read several books on this topic, and some of the stuff in them makes me feel queezy. My school english teacher's friend was a survivor from this era. She was sent to a death camp, and was lined up to be shot, by some amazing feat that could only have been brought on by God, the bullet missed her. She pretended to be dead nex to the several others not so blessed, and pretended to be dead. She stayed lying in that same place, not daring to move incase a soldier was watching for at least 8 hours. When night fell, she crawled out from underneath the dead rotting bodies, and crawled off into a nearby field. She thought she was safe, but as she was crawling along two leather boots appeared apparently from nowhere, she looked up to the soldiers face, and cringed waiting for the sound of gunshot and the stinging sensation of a bullet in her flesh, but the soldier looked at her and quickly looked back up as not to look suspicious to the other guards. She was later able to escape from the whole area, and escape to another part of Europe.

Thanks for listening to me bleat, but this horrifying tradgedy must be heard by as many people as possible.

Take care and Godbless
