The plaque is located right in front of the parking lot, and
is the first you see when arriving in Chelmno.
In a distance the main monument can be seen.
Translation:
In the years 1941-1945 a Nazi extermination camp was located on these
grounds.
360,000 Jews, some thousands of Poles, children from Zamosc and Czech children
from the town of Lidice were murdered here.
The victims were killed in Chelmno upon Ner or in the transport with exhaust-gas,
the so-called death-vans.
The corpses were cremated in the clearing of the Rzucowski-forest
