Treblinka

Question

I am a highschool student currently involved in a college Holocaust education course. For our semester exam, we are to do a term paper, mine of which is on the death camp Treblinka. I am having trouble finding the general layout of the camp and some general numbers of people who were killed, and just general information. Thank you for your time.

Harry W. Mazal OBE answers:

I am one of the volunteers who responds to questions addressed to our organization. As regards your particular question, you might wish to visit a very good site that not only includes a large image showing the layout of the camp:

http://www.holocaust-info.dk/operation_reinhard/imgs_treblinka/

I have taken the liberty of forwarding that page to you.

On the same site you can see the number of people that were deported to Treblinka at:

http://www.holocaust-info.dk/operation_reinhard/treblinka_deportations.htm

and a brief report on the Treblinka Trials of the perpetrators:

http://www.holocaust-info.dk/operation_reinhard/treblinka_trial.htm

A useful text which you might care to read is:

A Teacher's Guide to the Holocaust can be seen at:

If there is any information that you do not find in the above sites, please feel free to contact us again.

Yours sincerely,
